A modern holy family

The holy family is a contemporary mosaic, born from an interlacement of lines. These lines generate, in the center of the work, the simple features of the faces of Mary, Joseph and the Child, thus embodying in them the image of nowadays woman and man.

The black, grey and white shapes, instead, remind the technique of the stained glass windows, to suggest a sacred touch.

The materials are the stones collected and carefully chosen along the sides of river Tagliamento and in other places of the same region, to mantain a contact between the work of art and the place where it’s installed. The project of Laura Carraro was born from the inputs of the customers.
